That's the best I have ever seen those rims look Doug :)

Even better than on the vortex I recon.

As for the centres, with out them I don't think Doug would have swapped them for the sunnies :)

I Just need to organise a time to make a visit to your place Doug, I can bring that Standard 13 inch rim as well if you want it.

Yeah mate, I like them on the wagon too.

Feel free to swing around and grab those 14's any time, I already have a genuine subaru 13 spare so you can take all 5 14's. I do think one off of the back was out of balance.

Doug

Centre caps

Damn, you're right about those centre caps. The motions look sweet on the wagon.

Love the MY Subydoug

Finished flushing/draining the gearbox after getting some water in it. Filling it with 1L Redline Lightweight Shockproof + Penrite ProGear 75W90. This will protect the LR better up steep hills & should give better gear changes too

As if Fridays couldn't get any better, this arrived today :cool:
Expect a little write up for this over easter, I'm having the whole week off ;)
Oh and note the throttle cable connection, very Hitachi looking straight out of the box! Bought this as a "pre calibrated kit" maybe they even calibrate the throttle linkage.

Nice SB! When I did my weber conversion the stock cam was to big and only gave me about half throttle. Have no fear though as the Stock hitachi cam will go straight on and your linkage setup can stay stock.

I would also recommend a spot of locktite on the carby base nuts as I have had mine work lose before.

Regards

Doug

Finished off the EA81 and 5 speed conversion on the 77 two door sedan :-), next thing I need to do is put in some new shockies as she still has the originals and she floats around a bit at 180kmh. She just purrs along now at 120kmh where as before she'd be screaming her head off with the 1600 and 4 speed.

Willy, that thread above yours is the reason for the one I started ;)

Well, it wasn't today that I've done this - but Ruby Scoo finally got a new water pump and I shoved an N13 radiator in there too. Jury is still out on this rad doing what I want as I need an accurate temp gauge to read what's going on.

Pics to come of the radiator setup.

Cheers

That light bar looks neat on the wedge Doug!

SB - have fun with the carb, try to fill your socks with helium after this carb is installed, it will help with your fuel economy ;)

Cheers

A few things have happened regarding improvements -
1. Took the car on the road for a drive, this hasn't happened since before Christmas last year
2. bought yet another service manual for the MY. It is a Clymer, Subaru (obviously) 1300-1800, Brat & MPV, 1972 - 1982
3. finished this which is why the car is now drivable. Notice the fuel pump ?

Got the spare out from under the Sherpa. Looks like original. Dead flat but holds pressure ok.

Put battery in the Sherpa, checked oil, topped up radiator. Went for a lap around the paddock, parked it in the shed and later noticed oil dripping. I had not pushed the tiny dipstick fully home.. Dohh! It only takes 2.5L so i'll see how much I lost.

Put a Maglite car kit in the Brumby, mounted in front of the drivers seat bolts on the floor, second mount on the floor parallel to the door sill trim.

Never utilize grandiose vocabulary when simplified prose would suffice:D
In the 90's, I was contracting to the RTA. They supplied my company with a list of preferred terminology when making reports or job assessments and job instructions. It was an acknowledgement that the then standard of education had fallen radically. Has it reached rock bottom yet? Now that I'm retired, DILLIGATT about correctly spoken english?
