HUGE area in the Wombat/Lerderderg forests! Loads of places to check out - really need a couple of days to reckie and note the good tracks...

Hope the AC is an easy fix. I'm finally considering getting the AC in RS sorted, but it's going to be costly I think

G'day all
I was stuck in Sydney the other day, so grabbed the work ute & took a spin to the local shopping centre for a browse. They have BCF & Supercheap there so don't mind a look from time to time.
When I walked into Supercheap took a glance in the bargain bin at the front door & saw a Gregory's manual. Had been reduced from $42 to $35 then put in the $10 bargain bin. Sweet must be meant for me I thought. Don't really need it with all the info here but too coincidental to pass up.

Anyway I was pleased, small things amuse I guess.

Good find mate! That book (pretty much the same as the Haynes - same company!) is a great starter and has just about everything in it you need to do major services on the vehicle. Mine lacks the gearbox stuff - and conversion stuff too

I still use it from time to time when I can find it! I also have the liberty one too

It comes in handy at times...

Just scored these tyres on eBay

Is anyone interested in buying these? didn't expect them to go so cheap. Or do I sense that I should be looking for a 2" lift?

Are these the ones that were $80 if you let them go cheaper enough I'm interested I almost got them sent down to bendigo.

Hey guys,
Will get the tyres down from Sydney next week & think about what I'm doing after that.
A positive note today, I have working aircon in the Brumby again. Replaced an o ring last weekend & got the boys in the workshop at work to gas it up today. Drove home in cool comfort. All for exactly $0, can't get better than that.

G'day all
I've decided to let these tyres go to James if he still wants them. Not really wanting to go down the path of lift kit etc. I like the way the ute performs now & it might slow it up too much with those big tyres. They do look cool lifted with 27s it's just not want I want to do.
James I wouldn't mind seeing a picture of ya 14" Cheviot wheels, I love the old rare stuff like that.

G'day guys
Thought it was about time I showed you the last few things I've done to the Brumby.
I posted elsewhere that I made a good drivers seat out of a passenger seat.

Also I recently ordered a new 4wd bonnet badge off Frog aka Andy

My brother wanted to thank me for his Liberty seats & the few other jobs I've done on his Brumby so he got me a boss kit. I have had an old woodgrain wheel in the shed for about 10 years. Complete with tiny teeth marks that my old cattle dog chewed in it when she was a pup.

So it was out with the old

& in with the new/old

I have really been keen on keeping this interior completely original,that's why I went to the trouble of fixing up that drivers seat, but I don't really mind how this looks. Easy to swap back to the original wheel if I change my mind.

Dunno why you'd give up the Lib seats, I find the stock Brumby ones quite uncomfortable, especially after more than an hour

Nice steering wheel, the hub and spokes look identical to one we've got that was in the old wagon but the wheel was leather bound, and smaller than the stock wheel. Purchased way back when the car was new, and it's gonna get re-leathered(?) and put back when the car is done

Yeah I reckon it wasn't a bad swap.

Silverbullet,I guess I just like the look of the stock seats a lot better. The Liberty seats are definitely a good easy swap & worth the effort. They're cheap from wreckers too, not many people looking for Lib seats I guess.

After many months in the making, I finally have the power steering in my Brumby. It is probably the best thing I have done to this car to date. Very happy with the improvement.
Thanks to Proper Mouse for his help sending the kit down & the extra couple bits later on. Turns out I got the coupling I needed off a car at pick a part. I also took the pump off this car to have as a spare. They're easy to get off & it's good piece of mind.
I did try an L Series dual uni coupling for size, but it was just a touch to long. If you were willing to do a bit of trimming to the shaft coming out the top of the rack it would work. But I didn't have to use it in the end.
Everything else I did to get it going is listed elsewhere on the forum already, so don't think I need to go into details with any of it. If you have any specific questions, I'm more than happy to answer them.
So thanks goes to everybody who offered there tips & advice on this.
