The ones in behind the glove box is for the knock control circuit, dont worry about that it wont stop you from strating the car.
You will have to locate the ECU trigger wire it will be in or around the fusabel link box or in a part of the loom around the Alternator area. The wire you are looking for is a grey wire about 4mm thick and it comes fromt the drivers side across the front of the car and up to near the fusable link box

the problem is there is no wire that come across from the drivers side to the coil.... the only thick grey wire i have found is the one under the glovebox.....
is this wire a part of the engine loom? or does it plug in up near the drivers side strut tower>?

ITS RUNNING! woooo
ok traced all the wires back to the coil under the passenger side guard and found the end of the thick grey sheided wire.....
it turned out that the thick grey wire was earthed to the body and it should have been on the negitive side of coil
it runs......only has 1/2 an exhaust at the moment so have to get it welded up...
when running it sounds like it is running rich as you put the pedal down a bit and it hesitates to go and sometimes doesnt at all.....
also the tacho jumps around a fair bit....bad earth?
also...how hot is the turbo suppost to get? looked pretty bloody hot to me
cheers
and thanks for all the help you guys have given me
needs a tune to make it run properly now...

Congrats!!!!
Yeah the turbo will smoke alot when you first get it running as it builts up grease and takes a while to burn off. The hesitation will probably go away once it is running a bit as the injectors have a habit of rusting shut if left too long, it isnt bad rust but enough to make an injector or more play up.
Tacho jumping is a sign of the alternator not putting out enough power, could be caused through a bad earth or a small alternator. Turbos had a 60amp alternator on them, they will run with a 50amp on but you will have to limit load.

doesnt glow red/orange when it is just idleing....i think because it isnt running/tuned well it is running rich so the turbo is heating right up when you put it on boost.......
water and oil is getting to it.....

the intake from the turbo to throttle body seams to get quite hot also.....
is the turbo and itake suppost to get this hot?
ive got a turbo timer on it and i always idle it down before turning it off but it seams to be getting hotter than what i thort it would
when the green plugs are pluged in near the ecu that is in what mode?
when they are disconnected that does what?
i changed the dizzy timing when the plugs were plugged in then turned the car off and unpluged them...seems to run a bit better
cheers

ok its running but having a few issues with it........
took it for a drive and it seems like it is running too rich or not enough fuel.... it sounds like it comes on boost rather quick...1900rpm or so.....
turbo is getting orange hot...and intake gets that hot u can only touch it for about 2 seconds.....
it has a bit of a weird idle where it idles good for a while then it goes rough... and sometimes stalls.....when igniton is on the codes im getting from the 3plug ecu are 1 long 2 short.....and then when motor is running no codes... earlier during the week i was getting 3 long 3 short??
havent yet checked the timing.....
any help would be great

Yeah they come onto boost about then and yes the inlet plenum get friggin hot so thats normal, a fix for that is an IC i prefer the RS water air setup.
the eratic idle can be cause the bypass air controller has muck in it(its the black thing on the thermostat housing) undo the 4 screws and clean it out with WD

timing was fare way out....a few teeth on the dizzy and away she goes!
goes great..but still need to fine tune as it pings when you give it a bit....
got a wheel alinement on it today and the bloke at the tyre place (a wrx owner with 14psi boost) took it for a drive and was amazed at the low down power it had....said it pulls harder down low than his wrx

Thats great, glad you had a win.
I finally sorted mine out from running lean, and now seams like a different engine, they do go quite good really, surprised myself today with wheel spin on demand!
