low k 83 Leone what's it worth
I was talking to a retired old lady who wants to sell her 83 auto Leone sedan I think she said it had 120000km, she wants a small car with power steering, as she now finds the Leone to hard to turn. It looks in pretty good condition but she doesn't know how much to sell it for, I wouldn't have a clue. Any ideas on how much?

Why not fit PS to the Leone ?
1989 Brumby - Shiny new red paint, stroked EJ20 phase 2 SOHC with Darton sleeves bored to EJ22, Wiseco high-compression pistons, Delta 2000 grind cams , EJ/XT6 5 stud with WRX 4/2 pots, 5-speed, 86 GTS seats and so much more.

Hmmm, an older lady selling a low km early model Leone, sounds like a recipe for an A1 condition old Subaru.
As for value, some people would be bold enough to put a $5k price tag on it which is completely ridiculous. I'd suggest anywhere from $800 to $1.5 - $2k. But that's going on my experiences in SA where everyone usually wants double what the car is actually worth.

Personally I don't see much value in the sedans, but others might. I reckon the best way to do it is find a price that both parties are happy with. Not an easy task though!
Also you've got to be careful with old biddies - my nanna sold her 70k km VK berlina in 2000 for $400 - she was suffering mild Alzheimer's when she did it. Funnily enough the bloke couldn't get his wallet out fast enough - we didn't know about the deal until it was too late.
Cheers

Got a shiver down the spine reading that bit.El_Freddo wrote: The Japanese classics era is upon us. Buy wisely...
These old bits of metal seem to evoke some nice feelings in people, helped me make friends with a bloke who has a Red Brumby running Peugeot wheels up in Kalamunda today at the archery club
On topic: I saw one of these sell in good nick for 3k - that was pristine though.

That's what I've been saying! I see more and more very early gen Corollas, Datsuns and Hondas getting around fully restored and they look real shmick. But how can you ever tell what will one day be a classic? 15-20 years ago a split windscreen screen VW kombi was a pile of old rubbish, now a restored one is worth $50k! Hopefully we've made the right choice with our old SubisEl_Freddo wrote: The Japanese classics era is upon us. Buy wisely if you're going this way

She's got some nuerological disease and has lots of pain in her joints and muscles, hence the want for power steering and getting pwr steering put in .... too complicated for her to organize.
Paint is a little hazy but nothing some cutback polish couldn't fix. She said she has had 2 mechanics recently offer to help her out and take it off her hands!

Dayum?! I've been offered 8k once by an 'enthusiast' with my conversion explained to him. The insurance mob thinks 7k. I say about 5k... That's a hellova lot though. Almost as much as that garaged BRAT in the USA that recently popped up with 14,000 miles on the clock.phantomD wrote:I've been offered 20k for my restored Brumby with low km EA81.
