Very nice Jonno... if the engine in my vortex had been in good condition it would probably still be in the but it was toast and I had an EJ22 and computer waiting to go in...steptoe wrote:The same day you say this Jules, I reckon I found the sweetest spot of my EA82T - pulling up an incline at 80k, 3000rpm in fourth , just tickling pedal @8 pounds of boost - effortless
Grounding through the multimeter? if yes then my answer is no, it will create a circuit but not dirrectly to earth, so it will show voltage, if there is some there.TOONGA wrote:1 am I grounding it when testing causing zero volts?
I would not add and power to the ECU. Might need to study that wiring digram.TOONGA wrote:2 should I connect a 12 volt light to it and see if it lights up aka economy light, when I ground the light terminal?
Ditto as #2TOONGA wrote:3 Can I wire 12 volts to this wire to make it off?
Those pics remind me of doing Gleno's wiring... makes me love Dave even moreTOONGA wrote:has some very useful information, not just for me but for anyone attempting a harness cut down for an EJ22.
I think F26 refers to another connection on another page in the manual. Flick through the diagrams and look for that same F26 with the same looking weird design around the F26 number (does that make sense?)TOONGA wrote:I have found that to turn California mode off I need to connect (plug B127) pin 11 to terminal 12 on the engine plug called F26. (probably from the legacy FSM) I've not looked in the AU FSM yet to check the plug number.
So at some point tomorrow I'm going to find the right wire on the right plug and with my laptop set up, Im going to use my D5 ECU to determine if I can turn California mode on and off.
Yeah but the excitment of doing it yourself and having it actually work ...RSR 555 wrote:Those pics remind me of doing Gleno's wiring... makes me love Dave even more

It is a domestic loom and California mode is the economy setting in Australia, if you don't use the wire you are constantly in Economy mode.nncoolg wrote:Why would it be wired for 'california mode' anyway, did you use a domestic loom?

I'm guessing by the above diagram that the economy mode (aka californian mode) is related to auto wiring looms only?
