L series stereo
L series stereo
Hi people,
I want to put a small stereo in my newly found L series tourer, and looking for some advice.
Where can i source a plastic surround for the centre console so it can accomodate a DIN sized stereo?
What sized speakers will fit in the factory seaker places, front and rear? I know anything will fit i you try hard enough (eg 6x9s) but want to utilise to standard mounts.
Thanks
Julian

std int he doors is a 4.5" now with a bit of work you can get a 6" in it. rears are the same again.
as for the panel - the unit is shallow and a normal one WILL NOT fit neatly with out a LOT of work and relocation.
if you can find a radio that controls a stacker and a later radio facia (93/94) with brackets and pocket then I can help out.

Got quoted for 45 bucks just for the facia surround, and if it is a lot of work to fit a head unit I will probably just pay for the labour and get the local strathfield to do it for me- there is a bloke there who reckons he did one a couple of years ago and knows what is involved
The fronts are may be four and a halfs, but the rears look a lot larger from the exterior... It is a touring wagon if this makes any difference.
