Ha, I though I just got overly angry at drivers, but it appears pretty ordinary now. Soon get used to idiots when driving older cars. I usually only sit on 100km which sorts out most of the rifraf who overtake instantly, then only have to cope with the odd lady who is too nervious to overtake a car doing 100, but will chap along at 115kmh. The one that really pees me off is the amount of drivers that are too lazy to turn off their hibeam untill they've beamed you. Absolutely useless, and its not as though you cannot see the other cars headlights. And it really is a city driver thing. I drive into the country all the time, the further out you get the less it happens.

I don't flash anymore - you can get fined for that. So now I keep my high beams on until they drop theirs. If they decide to drive past me with both high beams going so be it - I've usually got the brighter lights in these situations anyway.

When they first used the slogan "light up and live" for the Christmas period, I was going back to work in the work car after an incident at home.
The work car had both a blue and a orange beacon fitted to it, as I was driving along the Bruce Hwy this car came the other way with it's lights high beam, I kept on flashing my lights at him, it was bloody blinding, in the end I lost it and hit the blue beacon to put the fear of God into the driver.

The car pulled over, bugger now I had to pull over too, I walked across the road only to fronted by 5 big burly coppers pissing themselves laughing at me, we were only supposed to use the blue beacon for emergencies until the State coppers arrived and we handed over to them.

From other thread...

I still need to get a shot of them from the drivers seat, but they light up as far as the (my) eyes can see.

For the first 400m it's as good as daylight. (Though more fun because Brum's doing it) :)

I need to take them on a long flat road and find where the limit is, but I think it's as close to far as it doesn't matter.

What I'd really like is a work light (spotty) angled at drivers eyes at 50m to the rear of Brumby so people behind with high-beams on could have a taste too...

two weeks later I get some rooster sucker (male or female I don't know as they looked that type hard to tell - white /grey, pale complexion, chubby ) - all I hear is a toot from a larger 4WD SUV as I am in a small roundabout, it is on the approach and wanted right of way clearance as if in an emergency , the horn keeps going, I look back in rear view trying to determine if its someone I know, reading the plate in mirror image - next thing get high beams flashing and then constant - hmm, so sirens, no uniform, no gender ID and that high beam trick is the last thing you'll ever do to me. I stopped to give way at next intersection, holding them up, undid seat belt to get out to ask what was up, next thing it barges past and pisses orf .....
