88 L series. EA82 Carb Dual Range - Central Coast, NSW

Post by indy » Tue Dec 18, 2012 2:22 pm

1988 EA82 L series. Manual, Dual Range.

335,000k's.

Good:
*Motor is going strong, replaced timing belt at 315k's
*New radiator & Heater Core. Runs really cool now
*New KYB shocks in the rear.
*Ball joints & Front wheel bearings replaced within the past 3 years.
*Brake shoes, pads and Front Discs replaced in the past 1-2 years
*Drive shafts fine, one clicks sometimes on full lock but boots still intact.
*Bullbar

Bad:
* Chassis Rails have rust. Would be a simple repair, just don't have the tools/time to do it.
* body is pretty average.
*Synchro between 2nd and 3rd worn. Been like that since i bought it at 240k's. Only a problem on the downshift, double shuffle and all is well.
*Oil leak.

Mechanically, its had alot replaced and the motor is going great. Body however is pretty crappy, it actually scrubs up really good, but i've gotta patch that needs.

Would be great for parts, as majority of the vehicle has been replaced. Mechanically its great, its just a shame that the body isn't upto par.
Owned it for 6 years, only selling due to recently getting an Outback!

Rego till 28 April i believe.

$750 ONO.

EDIT: will put pictures up if theres local interest!

Really? wow wish i found that out 6 years ago lol :(
Made a mistake in the OP, its actually dropping from 4th to 3rd its out of synchro, and going up from 2nd to 3rd. so used to double shuffling that i even do it on my new outback lol

Thanks Alpine for that!
