Touring Wagon

I bought this Wagon on the weekend in addition to my two Brumby's. I don't have enough shed space for it so I am going to have to sell one of my Brumby's. The previous owner was going to wreck it for it's parts because no one wanted to pay him the money he had on it but I couldn't see it parted out. I got it all except for the two front seats so I need either a good set of grey seats to put in it or a crappy set I can get reupholstered. I also need a set of caps to fit on the standard rims, look yuck without them.

Anyway, it seems to be good mechanically, runs a little rough and the power steering pump leaks. It has the original AM radio in it, and a 3 speed automatic. I have a couple of spare 4 speed brumby boxes i can swap over - does the digital dash and wiring loom allow for the dual range switches on the manual box? And does the rear diff need to be swapped or are the ratio's the same? Cheers, Ron.

Good save, those of us with these cars are lucky if they are still registered and on the road.
Now I have the L series I do wish I had left the 3 speed auto 4WD box in the car. Just to keep it original instead of putting the 4 speed dual range box in.

Yeah, Cliff, it is an 83 model. I have only driven it a few hundred meters and the automatic box seemed quite nice. All the panels are straight and it looks like the windscreen corners have been patched for rust, but I don't know how long it will last. Everywhere else appears to be rust free. It has been with the one owner all of it's life except for the last few months and it's been taken good care of.

I know of a local car club that will allow it to join and be on club rego, so I can drive it within 20kms of home without having to pay the crazy fees for rego from the RTA.

How many k's on the clock.
Mine is an 82 model with 264 thousand.
Not having to pay full rego would be nice.

188,000kms on the clock. We should go for a cruise, you don't see many MY wagons on the road.

I think you have to look real hard to find one of these in this condition with the manual. The auto's seem to be ex-grandma cars that have been driven little and garaged all their lives.
