Anyone drive RC cars/trucks?

Just got a traxxas vxl 4wd stampede

I was sold after using my friends one. These things have incredible range with the digital controller, I went 400m and didn't run out of range (could barely see the thing!).

There will be 4 of us tearing up the oval soon, interested to know if any other people on here are into these things?

and got this body (subaru brat):
it's in clear lexan, so will have to paint it and apply decals, then modify it to fit the stampede.

i too have been affected by the rc bug

i got stuck into it after using a friends rc car at work during lunch, since then ive since bought a tt01 (modified as much as it can) aswell as an rc10t stadium truck which ive been using for offroad racing, a lunchbox for carpark bashing, a tamiya monster truck and 3 drifters

the digital receivers are great, the range is amazing (even if you do lose track of them sometimes

)
it amazes me how many are getting into it now, especially drifting
but i think the offroad racing is pretty good

We have a electix boost RC 2WD buggy

Cheap at $180, parts a plenty

I bought a second one from the US even cheaper again - racing my lad is a lot of fun.

Never thought it be so much fun!

Used to have a 4WD nitro buggy that I had a lot of fun with until I found out how quickly it chewed through tyres and expensive 20% nitro fuel. Also having to clean it after every run and all the tuning issues I had lead to it being sold on ebay

My planes keep me busy enough; indoor and free flight mostly also a little slope soaring here and there.

I don't know anything about nitro, but it seems electric is more common at our local track now. Pretty sure it was the other way around when I was younger though?

I can't believe how much an 11.1V LIPO screams (and manages to do 100km/h with correct gearing!!!)

It the same with planes; the local club used to be all glow and fuel powered, now mostly electrics and the glow models are seen as noisy dirty dinosaurs

Lithium batteries and brushless motors are the thing that's revolutionized both hobbies; you should see my little park jet go with a 11.1v lithium...160 km/h is mighty quick for a tiny plane

A plane would be amazing, I love how you can use the simulator software (so I heard) for certain models with the controller before using the actual plane. This is a great idea.

Myself I've bought a stampede because it's going to get bashed around and I don't trust myself with a plane haha!

Haha yep heli's too, and there's that noisy expensive nitro stuff again

They're pretty big (second one is 600 size?) it's interesting seeing all that stuff done indoors with a 130 size electric. Expensive too, main reason I never started with heli is because a single crash meant hundreds of dollars in replacement parts, and crashes came often since flying them is harder than it looks

They look pretty wild!

There are way to many aftermarket parts for rc trucks, I foresee a broke future from not only real cars, but Rc ones now...

I have my trusty TT-01 which i have had sitting in the cupboard for 2 yrs. I literally got it out today to see what i needed to get it going then i see this thread lol.

I also have my mates two Lama V3 helis which im also sorting out hopefully to learn how to fly soon.

Really its just another excuse to stick my GOPRO camera on something

I has a couple but I don't drive them.. I did take one of them out of the box once but after putting dirt on the wheels and put it straight back in the box... I have a small addiction to collecting models

But love your shop revmax.. very dangerous for people like me
