Wanting to start a trend.

Have been driving my Brumby "Brum" every chance cause it is fun.
When I see another Brumby, the driver is looking at my Brumby.
I wanna give them a wave or flick the light just to acnolege the Brumby, but dont want to look like a dill. (probably do anyway) but hey i got a Brumby so who cares.
Now when I had a Jap bike The done thing was to give "The nod" to another Jap bike rider. When I had the Harley you were to COOL to give "The nod" but just raised your right index finger.
Now! on my way to work I sometimes travel in the same direction as a white Brumby. I do my best to catch him and I have noticed he does his best to catch up with me.
There are two ther Brumbys traveling the other way a Beige one and a Red one with P plates. Today I passed the red one again after work. The P plate driver gave be a big arm wave out the window, I returned the wave out the window.
After this the "piece" signal came to mind from the "Hey Charger" add.
Althogh I was born in 71 and never seen the add till mich later on youtube I thought it was pretty cool..
I was thinking could we start a "trend" for when you sight another Brumby.
Got any ideas . and yes I have been drinking.

hahah not sure about peace but i do tend to climb 90% of the way out of my window and wave when i see another liberty i'm usually greeted by an older individual staring back at me in puzzlement but on the odd occasion i'll get a young bloke jump out of his window as well which tends to make my day....

I reckon we should undo our seatbelts, Neal on the seat whilst driving (it's a difficult technique I know ) rip on the hand brake, compression brake in second gear, whilst dropping ya dacks and yelling Go Brumby ( bit like Hey Charger! )

Or maybe giving a thumbs up or a wave!

The Brumby observer look has been going on for some time, more noticeable when it comes from another Brumby, though some are, shall we say, a little shy.

The two fingers closest to the thumb (held together) is the most common ack.

I have noticed though that most EJ Subaru drivers are either unaware of their cars heritage or don't care.

The index finger lift is acceptable as is the more flamboyant two finger lift
I think a well timed raised eyebrow sufficient for a fellow enthusiast

hanging out the window is NOT cool

Although I was constantly amused with the different versions of "Hey Charger"shouted at me whilst owning one in the nineties

I can't actually remember the hey Charger ad but if its on ootube I'll have a look . When I think Chargers I remember Alvin Purple leaping one over the humps at an old drive in .

spare a thought for me please!

well it has a motorcycle front but motorcyclists have been and gone by the time they realsie it has some bike origins so they dont wave back, its a brumby engine but who'd know it so Subie owners (unless you grace these pages) wouldnt know it so they dont wave, trike owners the same- not many with rooves and no roof like this one so no wave, it has a Mazda sunroof but Mazda 121 funtop owners are now rare and they wouldnt recognise it so no wave there.

Oh well...I cant say I'm dissatisfied...the girls approach me personally and well....I just have to move them on....

plenty of waves there!!!!

and some ask me if I can give them a long hard ride.....

I tell them I'm married!!! but they still wave AND wiggle...

as for the trend I suggest the 4 fingers. no thumb but 4 vertical fingers indicating 4WD Brumby.

I drive 2 brumbies, my daily and my weekender..most of the other brumbies I see around toowoomba are old farm hacks with old codgers abord taking the rubbish to the tip.

Can't seem to find any other brumby owners around here that take a bit of pride in their car. I drove to Briusbane the other week to pick up an ej20G engine off of h-top and got some interest at Bulimba and at a garage I stopped at in inner brisbane. Saw a lifted L series near Wivenhoe dam last weekend but I just don't think there are any other brumbies in the Toowoomba area that have much work done to them. There is a red coloured rex brumby out my way but I don't think he is on the forum.

In the 70's Landcruiser drivers waved to each other as they passed.
Absolutely nothing wrong with this so go for it.
Due to being almost 50 I certainly recall the "Hey Charger" adds. Loved them then and still love them now. Chargers were excellent (not as good as Tarana's though) and still get attention out on the road.

They didn't really handle stop and steer too well and three wheeling thru the dippers on the mountain was not really an endearing quality .
And it took three side draught Webers a cam and a trip to Italy to make them go .

In the eyes of some a good classic that never got the status of the Fords and Oldens of the day . Rahnies had their issues too .

The best of back then was a arguably better world to live in - I think overall we had a better sense of values and less people to wade through .

(then the old chirp off the mark....or maybe smoking her up into 3rd gear followed)
