2nd Car

Post by Cliff R » Thu Nov 03, 2011 4:24 pm

I am considering putting my 1982 MY touring wagon off the road as a daily driver so I can work on it at my leasure instead of bandaid fixes all the time.
This means I need a 2nd car as a reliable daily driver.
Thinking it is logical to stay with a Subaru and having gone soft in the last 10 years I need the following:
-dual range 4WD
-Power Steering
-Electric windows
-A/C
-able to seat 5 people (wagon)

What sort of Subarus could I expect to end up with in a $2,000 to $2,500 dollar range with these qualities or am I dreaming ?

I am in the NSW Hunter area.

You know you are getting old when the candles on your birthday cake start to cost more than the cake itself.

Thanks everyone for your comments and ideas.
Sorry for the late reply I have not been able to get anywhere near the forum or a computer since I posted the original topic.
Work and home life has been totally nuts !!
I am still looking and since I already know the L series (I used to have a 1988 wagon) I think I will "lean" towards one of these.
I did see the one one for sale out of state and it does have all I was after but would probably like to find something more local (Newcastle and thereabouts) before going out of state.
I am in no real hurry though the MY turns 30 next year so I will keep a look out.
