Strut Brace for L series

Are Strut braces considered necessary on an L series?

Has anyone put one on, and if so what difference did you find?

They would probably benefit on road handling, but any benefit to off roading?

Any pics of installed ones would be appreciated, also.

I have one on mine, was installed when it was raced back in the day...I just had it chromed.
Have never run it without it, but my whole front end has been seam welded as well to help rigidity. Woudn't like to run it without it as it's already a handfull with torquesteer.
Can see the brace in this shot.

I've tried to find a mass produced one but with no luck, people only seem to list them for Liberty onwards. I beleive back in the day when RX's were raced there was a company making them but I doubt they are still in production.
I figure the options are either pay for somebody to make one, or keep your ear to the ground for a secondhand one to come up.

Have also seen a Japanese RX with an STi marked cross brace. They werent offered as an option & was intrigued when I saw it & asked about it on the old forums but was unable to get any specific info on it. Will try & find the photo in the mean time...

Could well have been a fab job with stickers, or a later model one cut down a little...

L series weren't in favour by the time STi got proper started...

Yeah, thats the discussion I had raised.
Am trying to find the photo at the moment, was on a Japanese site so it's quite time consuming!
I started the topic on the old board with photos & links, wish we could get the data back....
