VDC on H6
I've never used my car on a beach or anywhere where traction is not great, has anyone with the VDC system found it hinders your ability wth it always cutting in and cutting your power?

I dont know that it cuts the power.
It only controls the ABS unit to direct braking to individual wheels to keep the car travelling in the direction you point the steering wheel. It also varies the amount of lock up of the VTD centre diff.

Are you getting torque bind when turning sharply? or any shutter from the brake pedal when pressing firmer than normal on them?

Actually when i do turn sharply, normally in reverse i find sometimes to wheel kinda jerks loose then tight again, kinda strange, also kinda off topic does anyone find if they park their car on a steep driveway then start the car and try and put it in gear there is massive resistance and it often clunks with force into gear? I rung subaru and they said its normal its just the gearbox when its cold?

Mercedes Benz 5 Speed Auto 72226 gearbox's have the same drama, its no biggy.
I haven't got VDC, but I certainly get the pedal shutter when going down a dune and pressing on the brakes...RSR 555 wrote:Are you getting torque bind when turning sharply? or any shutter from the brake pedal when pressing firmer than normal on them?
I believe it's just the ABS system kicking in due to wheel lockup, isn't it?

Yeah just the ABS.
If the car you are referring to is the 07 XT Foz in your sig, are you sure it doesn't have VDC/ESC?

Doesn't sound right to me but without seeing it firsthand it's a bit hard to say. I would look at making sure your fluids are upto date with their changes.wombataaron wrote:Actually when i do turn sharply, normally in reverse i find sometimes to wheel kinda jerks loose then tight again, kinda strange, also kinda off topic does anyone find if they park their car on a steep driveway then start the car and try and put it in gear there is massive resistance and it often clunks with force into gear? ABS and sand does not go well togetherpezimm wrote:I haven't got VDC, but I certainly get the pedal shutter when going down a dune and pressing on the brakes...

What I have found in some of the later models is the ABS ring on the front wheel bearing/s giving troubles/faulty readings to the central control system. This is causing weird brake pedel feelings (like a 1/2 the feeling you'd get when your ABS is fully locked in emergency situation) and trouble codes on the system. When this happens the centre diff plays havoc.
