undoing l series roof racks

Post by indy » Tue Aug 16, 2011 4:37 pm

hey guys might seem like a silly question, but how the hell do you get the subaru roof racks off the l series? Im not sure if you need a special tool or something? Socket wont fit in, head of the nut looks a bit rounded, not sure if its from wear or its a special nut?
I feel stupid posting this lol, will try some ring spanners when i get my hand on them.
Ontop of the nut it has inscribed "10r"

They should have a torx bit security bolt holding a cover plate over the mounting bracket but if you had a picture then we could work through it.
You know you are getting old when the candles on your birthday cake start to cost more than the cake itself.

I have the exact same bolt on my roof rack...
Is that the picture I just posted last week?

I cannot move my roof rack bars either, but I want to. ;)
