just thought i'd chuck some photos up of chloe my liberty... it was getting on in the evening so not the best pictures..

it's 1990 gen 1 gx wagon with gen 2 outback stuts and raised hd king springs..

planning on changing the engine at the end of the year in uni break to a ez30 or ej205... or 207 if funds permit... also want to put an lsd in the back and get some to rebuild the gearbox with an l-series low range..also a further 2" body lift later down the track as stubaru's l-series still has an inch of height on the liberty nd i just cant have that..

You definitely need outback trailing arms to push those back wheels to be more in the center of the arch.

so took her for a spin and after getting nic to give me a bit of a push out of some really soft sand... the door wasn't closed properly and swung out and found itself being wedged back by a close tree.... also found out i have a real problem with my clutch as it just refused to grip in the sand just revving out and smoking quite badly reminiscent of bob marley in recording..

here are some pictures of the damage.. anyone got a front left door.. hinges and front quarter panel lying around... guy?

Shit, thats gonna be a mess to clean up.... and im not talking about the mud :P
Atleast ysu still got the door and it didn't come off.

thats not as bad as it looks

take the door off and leave the hinges on
use a soft face mallet and extreme force to push the hinges back into place.
no rubber mallet a wooden block (jarrah is good) and an FBH will do the job.
try to reshape the pillar and quarter panel as well
put the door back on and align it and you will find all you need to replace is the door stop that broke when the door met with the tree.

its just in the back of canning vale off southern river drive its not to bad bit of sand some bud and some hills aswell...

i had a look at the door seems like its just t he hinges have bent out so should be too bad of a fix i hope.. the thing im more worried about is the clutch.. as soon as she got bogged down a little in the sand the clutch just started letting go and there was a big ploom of the instantly recognisable clutch burn smoke.. had the disk out not to long ago didn't look to bad.. is there anything else which could cause this i.e thrust bearing..?

An incorrectly adjusted clutch cable - too much tension on it so the full clamping force is being held back.

Or a burnt out clutch due to poor technique or the like.

tyres with lots of air in them. did you let them down before you went mudskipping? as they look like they are at road pressure.

and an FBH and a block of wood will get those hinges close to where they once lived.

when ever these so called "big boys" are going out to play . . . also who's had experiences with having lift kits and engine swaps engineered in wa, minister of fun mrs kill joy is insisting that anything else going into her needs to be above board as she doesn't want another yellow sticker and seems pointless to spend the cash and have a car that is more then il-legal.... basically planning a 2" body lift (may have to have a chat in regards to this paul) and ej20t hoping to do it in summer holiday about 3 or 4 months away and i understand there is some paperwork to start the process...?

i want to get the car licensed with the new engine in it when i do a wrx conversion and lift etc.. not sure how hard it would be but i'd prefer not to get another yellow ahah and i put the challenge out there it wouldn't be right to not attend this weekend..
