I will be going to look at a Brumby that is listed in my local trader. 91' model with the usual tow bar, bull bar, canopy, 6 months rego & rwc with around 210k on it, standard wheels. Any common problems to look for on the brumby and and usual rust areas? What price would you think would be resonable?
Thanks

Usual rust areas at least on mine
Lower corners of the windscreen (although could be hard to see unless it is bad)
Obviously the tray
Both my doors had a bit in the lower end
One big thing is check under the vinyl flooring, if there is any moisture there. When I got mine it could be weeks after it has rained and I would find plenty of moisture underneath the matt because of bad seals and leaks, which will obviously leave you with a higher chance of rust.
another thing I would try would be turn the car full lock and drive in circles, if there is any clunks you are looking at new cv's. just a good bargaining point to get a couple hundred of the price.
Also you can drive down a hill at something above 60k in a low gear allowing the revs to build up with your foot off then at the bottom of the hill put your foot down, if there is a cloud of smoke in your rear vision mirror you know you are up for some engine work.
anyway they were just the little tricks I was taught when looking, hope it helps
and no clue with the price, it seems to vary so much case to case
