Brumby engine revolution unit
Brumby engine revolution unit
I have a 92 Brumby that cranks ok but wont start. It has no spark and I cant hear the fuel pump start when the key is turned. Have replaced the coil as was leaking oil but this made no difference. So I believe the engine revolution unit has failed. Has anyone bypassed or repaired one of these ??

engine revolution sensor escapes me ? have you tried power and earth at the pump, or bypass to diagnose?
fuel or no spark your problem? Igntion module inside dizzy can give no spark situation. Try aerostart intake to see if it fires if you have spark it should run for a moment - if that is the case you need to pursue fuel, simple

Sounds like an earth Problem, maybe the main one to the body?

OK, never seen one of these in my travels. I wonder if it is pre 84 component, as mine is 10/84 Brumby. Also parted out 3/84 sedan. Come to think of things, mine was supposed to have some sort of fuel cut solenoid in the carby, but was more pollution than safety I am certain. I am of no help to you on this, sorry, but thanks for the pics, does help !

Are you sure you hooked the ignition coil up right?
There is a wire from the coil that feeds the rev unit.
Have you tried to see if there is power at the fuel pump relay?

It senses engine rotation from the coil pulses and turns the fuel pump on. If the engine stops, so does the fuel pump.
When the ignition switch is turned to on, it comes on for 2 seconds to prime the fuel system
