Jay, I think you have now the best conversion (NA) you can get from available subie donor cars, bar the H6. Not saying that couldnt be done either, seeing you have eliminated just about all available options for now!!
'03 Forester X, stock standard for now.
'89 EA82T Touring Wagon, 5-speed D/R, 14" alloy wheels, bullbar. (Past ride)
'81 MY wagon, 3" lift, 5-speed D/R, Weber, 14x27" tyres. (Past ride)

lol... it was a 97 model, never bothered to look if it was a sohc or dohc... but i shoulda swapped the rear diff before i sold itIf it was a newer model than a 99 then it might have been a SOHC instead?

when this engine blows, i might look at a full H6 conversion with running gear as well... thats a definate WHEN, coz the boss would kill me if a started again so soon

seems to go pretty quick, its kinda difficult to take off though coz the wheel spin is insane from all the torque. But on the plus side, when accelerating in 4th for example, there is power straight away, you dont have to wait for the revs to get up there.
engine light it slowly coming on less and less, but i still gotta earth the ecu properly.
my rear wheel carrier is on, i figured out a way 2 stop it wobbling, making a new number plate mount this wknd, my bash plate is ready to go on this wknd, i got my flash steering wheel on (boss kit modified) and im hoping that my rear spring spacers are ready when i get to work coz then the days of having a saggy ass end will be gone and there is less chance of me losing me rear bumper

09 Forester XT Touring Wagon
I may be keen for a crack at that title fellas.tim_81coupe wrote:Depending on how I go with the coupe I might end up with the fastest offroader :P
Mike and AndrewT being the only possible challengers to that.
(sound of gauntlet being thrown down)
1989 Subaru WonderBrumby II
EJ22 Dual range AWD lifted, widened and much happier now thanks very much.
1991 L Series wagon, white and perfectly normal apart from the ticking, no I think that is normal.
Jet boat..webbered EA81 with a hybrid tin dish welded and glued to it.

I've nearly convinced a mate of mine to let me stick a lift kit into his `99 WRX hehehe
Jay that sounds bloody good....I don't count excess wheelspin as a problem!
Oh well, I've got abit of experience in fitting an AWD box now, and you could certainly do the welding required, have a look under my car when it's done - might be a good option to keep that grunt under wraps.
