Other than that - it sounds like this is your first car. You will love it if you look after it. Don't go nuts or over the top with it. If you're unlucky and have a stack (your fault or not) you will be devastated one way or another, I know I was - my car was a bomb and it wasn't my fault either. But I was shattered. Got it going again but it was never the same.

Now I've got a subi that's toyed with.

Learn about your car mechanically - what goes into maintaining/fixing a car can really help you out at times. At least you'll know what your mechanic is on about ;)

Cheers

Performance Wise, Ii'm going through this at the moment, but I've only got less then 6 months to go.

Cold Air InTake is good. - I'm in the process of building the box, but I'll post up a picture shortly of my current intake)
lower 40 - 50mm at the most I lowered my Gazelle on Kingspring Stage 1 and could notice the change and comfort.
Strut brace (If not already got one)
Upgrade Throttle Body size
Better Brakes
Full exhaust or Catback with extractors.
maintain the fluids - oil - coolant etc..
Paint the Rocker cover red. Red Makes it go faster!

attachment.php?attachmentid=2636&stc=1&d=1301452562 I am jspending sometime on the weekend to build the CAI box and house it in, but since putting on the intake and POD from the weekend, I have noticed a huge improvement, Particularly when it is cold and the engine hasn't warmed up yet. Good cheap power increase.

Well I was thinking of a SC on the bonnet of ruby, plus a couple on the rear windscreen that I've seen around the traps of lakes - "Gun control is being able to shoot your target" and "Shoot ferals not ducks" :D

I remember a US DIY cannon exhaust muffler that was good for at least 5kw minimum - and came cheap if you eat the milo from the tin

Best bet would be to drop into your local auto store and ask or do some research on the net ;)

Extractors are 110% completely useless on your motor.

If it is the rumble you want, then a well tuned CBE is the way to go.

Advanced driving course??

Seriously, get it to handle, sway bars, 22 front, 24 rear with quality links, King Low springs, Anti lift kit, maybe a set of 16" WRX rims with good tyres (they are light) & you'll handle and stick to the road as well as any WRX, I've seen a few well sorted N/A's on cruises make the "hot" turbo cars look stupid on the twisty bits because they had spent money on handling instead of bling.
Cheap zorst is a 2nd hand WRX cat back adapted to your headers, system $50ish, fitting $80ish, you'll find most of this stuff on Rexnet or similar forums.
