Looking at buy 08 STI hatch

Post by mikey_sti_ » Thu Mar 10, 2011 5:34 pm

Hey, first of all im new and i hope this is in the right forum.

Im looking at buying an 08' STI hatch. I've been doing a little research and I've noticed a few people have had problems. Ive read about a few people blowing their engines and transmission problems. Id really love to hear from more experienced people (i only know a little bit about cars ) if they have heard / experienced any problems with the 08 STI.

Im not sure if it is driver error or just manufacturer problems with the new model STI's.

Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated

I dunno about "driver error" but I would highly suspect "driver flogging" would be more appropriate!

Good to see you're doing some research first, hopefully someone in the know will be able to help you out more than I could ;)

Cheers

Ive fallen in love with the new shape, now that i have the chance to buy one i couldnt pass it by.

I just hope that these problems are not as common as i think they are :(

I have the 08 WRX hatch and have had no problems what so ever, however in saying that I don't flog it either.

In all honesty mate you really are on the wrong forum here, you are more than welcome as long as you realise most of the cars on here are over 15yo & not even remotely related to what you want, find your local NSW WRX forum or Rexnet where everyone has the same interests.

^ That said it's not an invitation to piss off! We're always open to new model's information being added to the forum ;) If its subaru it belongs here somewhere!

Cheers
