Upgrading Speakers need help with Power Capacity of Subaru Impreza RS MY10
Hello guys,
I'm looking to upgrade my sound system a little further, but I have no knowledge on the output capacity of my car, as in battery or alternator, it is a Subaru Impreza RS MY10, and I'm looking to have these 2 amps running, I was wondering if the car can handle it, preferably with ease, the system will never be played with engine off.
This is what I"m already running:
http://www.alpine.com.au/showItem.php?item_id=79
And between the 2 Monoblocks I'll be choosing one of these 2
http://www.alpine.com.au/showItem.php?item_id=158
and
http://www.alpine.com.au/showItem.php?item_id=173
Thanks for any help offered guys

The alternator will probably be around the 90A range
Batteries are normally pretty small, usually less than 60Ah, a battery upgrade is probably recommended

what sub are you running? you do realise these are pretty much competition spec amps?
the v-power mrp2000 is 1500wrms. You can run like 5 BIG subs from this one amp at 2ohm.
go to a car stereo shop and be realistic.
what speakers are you running? we need ALOT more imformation to give you good advice. What do you want from your system?
you will need to run 2 guage power cable minimum. Once you start going over 1000wrms you need to look at getting into capacitors/dual battery setup. The standard battery wont cope and youll be straining the alternator.

At the moment I'm running:
Type R Fronts, 6.5"
Type S Rear Doors, 6.5"
150 Watt RMS Kicker Sub
and
MRP-F600 http://www.alpine.com.au/showItem.php?item_id=79
Amp runs to Sub and Fronts
I'm Looking to put in Type X Pro Components dropping my Type S's
And a Type X Subwoofer 12"
And one of those 2 monoblocks.

your original 4channel amp will run your splits including your new type x's easy. (although i wouldnt touch alpine speakers with a 10ft pole in that price range)
Id look at downgrading your monoblock because its just going to over power it and you wont be using half of what the amp is capable of.
this amp would be my choice(it has enough juice to run almost anything)

also if you think youre pretty serious about your system look at other brands. Alpine make shit speakers to be honest. Theres alot better out there. Id be looking into hertz/focal and the likes.
either way you will need to upgrade your battery, optima do a real good battery.
this is pretty serious gear youre looking at, just play it sensibly and do it properly, dynamat the whole car, use very good wiring and if youre not capable of the install get the pros to do it or else you may as well just go buy pioneer shit.
