Post by Dann » Sun Sep 05, 2010 10:03 pm

I'm with RSR 555, would be easier for me to meet up at Joondalup as i would be going down then straight back up again, and I've been up in the dunes the last two weekends so I've been along a couple of the tracks up there, so i have a brief idea of the tracks up there :p should be gwd

It would be nice to have someone thats been there before to guide us. I've been looking on google earth and saw a few tracks I want to try out:)
Also saw an area with small pinnacles. not sure if the pics on google earth were at the right place but yeah.

Also, I love fishing and know what bait etc to use to catch Mauritian fish but, whats out here? what bait, what size hooks, gear should i use etc?
:) thx
I've only been there twice in the last 12 months but happy tag along.. Best to have at least 2 cars with UHF radios so one can lead and the other to push the stragglers along :p

As for fishing tips.. well it's all about what you have but I would recomend a good quality beach rod with good line and some star sinkers, some floats, some pre-made tracers, some gang hooks (to suit the size of bait), a block of mullies and lastly lots of sun protection.. hats, sunnies, sunscreen and water

Yeah.. the earlier the better  I'd recommend to meet up in Joondalup by 9am and leave by 9:30

this would give time to explore the area for the best camping spot :)

Hey guys.

Yeah we can meet up in joon, no problem at all. I've got to fishing rods (3.6)meters and some hooks but i don't have the rest. Would I be able to borrow some fishing stuff or maybe share the cost of bait etc?

I have 4 small portable radio's that i'll share among the cars plus I got one in th car.

I'll leave my place around 8 to 8.30 hopefully so yeah could meet in Joon around 9.

Everyone is welcome to come on the trip:)

I have a 250cc Chinese quad that I'll bring too. Its not a race one, more like a farm one but yeah was $150 LOL:)

We will have a better go tomorrow.

I'm not sure, I'd prefer to go camping in the dunes but my girlfriend says she has to have toilets and a shower!!! but If we all decide to go in the dunes then she will have to follow:)

I'm with camping in the dunes that would be fun but as RSR 555 said earlier there may be the ranger that patrols around delivering little fines:S. But I'm up for either all :) and alex yes we have moved it to two rocks as it is a little closer for people with exams and going to the cruise on Sunday.
P.s sorry guy taking over there :p

I'll bring a bunch of extra fishing gear but bait you'll need to bring yourself as I'll be leaving Friday arvo with another friend. He is heading home on Saturday so I can meet you guys in Two Rocks at around 10am at Foodworks on the corner of Sovereign Drv & Enterprise Ave
