Central Locking wont work in the morning.

Post by Gannon » Fri May 14, 2010 9:36 pm

Lately (we've had a cold snap in the last week)

I cant unlock the car (2001 Outback) with the remote first thing in the morning. By the time i get to work its fine and will work for the rest of the day.

It was fine last winter.

Anybody else ever had any issues like this?

Battery in the remote getting tired? Or lock mechanisms that need lubrication?

Battery is less than a year old.

Nothing happens when i push the button on the key. If it was mechanical, the blinker lights would still flash.

I found this while searching google

Happened to my wife's Camry last week, all last week that specific door wouldnt lock/unlock, i gave it a squirt with sewing machine oil (clear thin runny oil) and worked as treat.

What is temp droping to in the mornings there now? Parked in shed or outside overnight? Wonder if parked outside aprk it with driver door facing morning sun to warm it up a little.
