Not buying anything in the foreseeable future but am curious to know if the last year of the std or classic bodied WRXs was the best mechanical spec .
Am not interested in STis either .

I guess so.
I know the next model GD/GG (bugeye) was a lot stiffer in the body, but that made it quite a bit heavier

Been talking to Coxy lately and much as though we both prefer the same 2000 era Evos they're not the better financial proposition .
Rexes are getting cheaper to get into and there is so many used but serviceable parts out there for them , and the stuffs cheap for what it is .
