2000 liberty rx wagon

Post by libertywagonrx » Wed Dec 30, 2009 4:01 pm

Hi all.

Just a thread to introduce my ride.

Image
^excuse the L-Plate, its an old photo...its a red P now.^

It is a Subaru Liberty Wagon, RX 2000 model, with the fake wood interior.

Haven't done anytihng to it so far, except for a new Alpine stereo and front speakers.

Plan to do the rear speakers and put a sub(s) in the back.

Plan to get respray on the front and back panels, full of scratches... :(

Looking at getting a new exhaust, just the end, cat-back is too pricey.

Would like to put in some wrx bucket seats.

Would also like to install a set of bronze 17" wheels, but again, expensive.

Short term i'm probably just going to keep it relatively stock, but if anyone has any ideas for good performance, or looks, that are worth doing, PLEASE let me know, i would really appreciate it! Thinking of putting in sway bars, but lowering it i think would be too much of a hassle for driveways/clearance.

[/SIZE]

Cheers,

Jack

Welcome, nice looking wags mate!!.

yeah make it handle well is the best mod if your not doing performance mods. the 2.5's go well enough as it is, maybe stick a K&n panel filter in it.

as for the exhust dont put i cannon on it! our gen3 2.5 Rx sedan had one on it when we got it, it droned through the whole car and on the hiway you couldnt hear any thing!!.

got a nice sport muffler put on it. sounds pretty good now.

Thanks guys, yeah, i'm not a canon man, really the stock one is fine. Canons are cop bait especially for a p-plater.

Are there firmer springs to buy without sacrificing height? The thing is low as is.

What about sway bars?

No offence.. I don't like cannon on Subarus....

Springs, its normal for Gen 3 to have sloppy suspensions so not much you can do.
Are the shockers buggered?

nah, its just a little too soft. I see alot of people putting on the lowered king springs, but as i am driving on a bit of dirt roads, i like some clearance.

I dont like canons either. So no offence taken :P

nice car mate, I have a white RX wagon like yours, I forgot how good looking a car it used to be befor I lifted it.
You can bye new springs that will firm up the ride, but befor you do cheek your struts (shockys) are in good nick as thay will go befor the springs will, unless its been a county car most of its life.
You should be able to get both springs and struts for under $1000 if you shop around.

Rik.
[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC] Im now all grown up to an outback with a 2" lift and outback struts, ready to go off road and take on the world.

okay sounds good i'll look into it, springs would be cheaper than buying the struts, considering that they are in good condition.
