what has caused my wrx lights to pulsate bright and then soft? everything else is good just weird lights

Headlights, interior lights, brake lights?

How quickly do they pulsate?

Id stick a volt meter on the battery, it could be a the alternator or the voltage regulator on its way out causing fluctuations in voltage.

You do know that its normal for the indicator lights to pulsate ;)

agreed above - get a voltmeter and check.. could be a fault or not providing enough power from alternator.
Have you had a flat battery yet?

ok did that and yes voltage is going between 8 and 14, 13 years old, and 500k on the clock, i guess something had to wear out

Did you say 500,000 kms on the clock? I would say it would be wearing out. For starters is alternator to check out and replace relays etc as they would have poor contact inside them.
