I was warned not so long ago that some that had used a Diesel engine oil with bigger, better detergent package can cause an engine to be cleaned out so much that should one change back to a cheaper car engine spec oil it may use oil, blow smoke until all things carbon and gunk up again, moral seems to be stick with the good oil. Wonder if it is like emu oil? slaughter the cat before harvest? Further to that, I ran my parents 90 Telstar TX5 on Valvoline 15W40 Diesel spec oil from first oil change to 195,000 when sold and new owners not complained of any problems in last five years. Don't know if they continued the good oil or not.
