60mm ID throttle duct hose EA82T

What is it about sizes of hose and throttle body inlet diameters? Silicone hose connectors, bends and reducers are all in imperial based measure such as 2",[51.0mm], 2.25" [57mm], 2.5"[63mm] and so on. The inlet on the EA82T and some other Japanese made throttle bodies as I am tinkering with at the moment is dead on 60mm which is either too tight or too sloppy for either of the above sizes. I am planning on pinching an old turbo hose for my mods but where have others got their 60mm hoses from? Once upon a time there was Dunlop Flexide.....

fitting an unknown TB [has same bolt pattern as the half spider manifold coincidentally] to an EA81 inlet manifold to fit an Impco 125 gas mixer atop, using a 10mm thick home made adapter plate between manifold and TB. Nearly there, just need some exhaust tube expanded, 60mm hose!!

Don't some of the better bearing supply shops carry big bore rubber hose or maybe truck rad hose . Truck wreckers or suppliers may have something useful .
Other than that a hose specialist like Pirtek or Earls etc .

I used a silicone bend, was a little loose, but with a good quality hose clamp, it sealed enough to hold 10psi

Im guessing it was a 63mm one

Thought I'd trawl for some positive experiences, remembering my own previous measures and Gannons loose fit, and wanting perfection if I could get it. Firstly found a hose joint who will sell as little as 20mm in length of the super duper expensive hose and they first scared me with an ugly black, very thick wall wire reinforced oil resistant hose, then found a sexy powder blue external and red internal silicone hose marked PUROSIL 70-238-1M, then scared me with the calculations based on $280 a metre working out my price to be $84 - for 30mm !! Hang on, 280 divide by 10 is 28, 1000 / 10 is 100mm ~ that's $28 / 100mm, much better, I'll have $30 worth thanks. I think it is 70mm OD, about 5mm wall thickness and beautiful snug fit on the throttle body. A lunch time well spent

EDit purplepig.com.au (tassie or melb?) list it at $228, and the 238 bit of the part number refers to 2 3/8" 50.8mm= 2" , 9.525mm=3/8", which refers to the ID measure

Imperial measure and its fractions !! 64ths, 32ths, 16ths, 8ths, 1/4s and 1/2s Mate!! Pulled apart a wardrobe me uncle built in 1975 recently after the country had gone metric two years earlier. Could still see his numbers on the drawers - 27 11/16".I still maintain the millimetre was invented for him, but took him a few years to realise it

Well the humble inch was divided into thou or 1/1000's . The mm is generally close enough to 40 thou and you can go from there ie 2.5mm is ~ 100 thou .

T bolt clamps can usually squeeze loose hoses on depending on what sort of pressure they are expected to withhold .
In competition apps there are usually tags and braces attached to the hard pipes so the hose clamps don't take the force of the pipes trying to spread apart .

they do a 70mm-60mm reducer 90 degree bend for a price

found a reducer online but have not got the space to do so, getting a piece of zaust pipe expanded to fit over my adaptor so the throttle and adaptor will butt up to each other and use the snug fit 60mm pipe. The blue silicone will almost match the Subablue air filter box colour

The nissan r33 skyline has a 60mm 90 rubber bend as part of the standard intercooler setup in the engine bay side, try an importer or skyline forum.

you can get in sexy blue or black silicone, reducers in inch sizes, look on google, ebay etc " silicone reducer bends 2.5" to 2.25" " Supercheap stock some too

I decided to go with the more expensive heat/fluid resistant treated option and its reinforced so it does not flex or deform (suck together) once hot - i am not suggesting that they all do however i have seen some brands that do.
