Broken bonnet release cable - how to open bonnet?

Post by GTlegs » Mon Jun 15, 2009 12:50 pm

Just what the subject says. My L-series bonnet release cable finally snapped. Any tips on how to open the bonnet up without the cable?

Thanks

I would be trying to take the grill off carefully and releasing it with a set of pliers...

I remember being able to somehow reach up to the latch and flick the lever from underneath the bumper, once i worked it out it was simple

Last time I did it was using a screw driver thru the grill but cant remember how.. that was like 7 years ago..

Otherwise it would be removing the grill and find somewhere where it'll release...

yeah timmos right.. same thing happened to my bonnet release cable on my L series.. you just hav to reach up under the bumber to where the latch mechanism is and flick a little lever to the left.. that will pop it..
