Post by TW83 » Tue Apr 07, 2009 10:39 pm

Hi,

my EJ22 has corroded and needs replacement. (not my fault and now dont trust wreckers - who does?)

Any recommendations on where to buy a replacement ?

Hmmm... How has it corroded??? I've just got a unit from the wreckers for my EJ conversion that looks like it needs a new water pump - I hope that's all it needs.

It had symptoms of a blown head gasket so I pulled it down. The under side of 1 of the bores has corroded near the gasket surface so that it is only about 4mm thick instead of about 8mm. I expect that this area would overheat and boil the coolant and eventually lead to the gasket failure.
