Looks like a factory 1982 grille to me with the badge removed...and painted green instead of factory charcoal. I fitted an 82 grille to my 89 Brumby, you need to move one plastic clip on the body and it will fit right in.

Dean.
1989 Brumby - Shiny new red paint, stroked EJ20 phase 2 SOHC with Darton sleeves bored to EJ22, Wiseco high-compression pistons, Delta 2000 grind cams , EJ/XT6 5 stud with WRX 4/2 pots, 5-speed, 86 GTS seats and so much more.
Contact me for reproduction XT6 hubs...and EA82 rear discs.

Companies make billet grilles for cars like the current model Hilux that sells a couple thousand units a month in Aust alone not for poor old Subarus that have been out of production for 16 years. But don't be disheartned by that. If you have an idea of what you want your grille to look like just pull it out and see if you can change it. Or if you've seen a grille in something else you might be able to cut and shut it to suit. The word here is custom only.
The good thing about a forum full of old Subaru owners (or owners of old Subarus) is that they know what aftermarket parts are (or aren't) available. Personally, I've never got to the stage where I was so happy with the performance, capability and handling of my Brumbies that I thought about changing the grille. At the moment I'm building new trailing arms and cutting huge amounts of sheetmetal out of my rear end.
i am 16 and on my learners so i am focussing on looks. i have seen this grille on two different brumbies, both in australia

another option is to cut the middle out of my grill and wrap grill mesh around it like this one

I fitted seats out of a 2002 Mitsubishi Lancer into my Brumby, drivers side is actually adjustable up and down for seating height. It needed some work with a grinder and welder as they are different, comfortable and stylish :D
