Hey MGS,
You've hit the nail on the head with the brakes issue. It shouldn't be too hard to find Jeff and enquire about the crossbred breake conversion costs.
This kit should sort you out in NSW. The vehicle will most likely need to be engineered before rego, the brakes will help with the engineering.
Cheers

Another option is to use (i know they are rare) a disk brake l series rear end bolts on if you can find them. My brumby has this set up on it it works very well with a good set of front pads.
First hit of the brakes in morning is a little spongy until some heat is in them but after that they work very well (good feel and stopping power).
Biggest problem is i seem to crack( heat/stress) front rotors after a while but these are very cheap and easy to change from any wrecker that has brumbys/l series etc.
Remember converted brumbies don't way much only about 1000kg wet
Engineers say the brakes have to replicate the stopping power of the donor vehicle.
My brumby runs a ej 20g turbo in it also.

So many optioins not enough time or money

mate to be honest. Ive just done a EJ20G conversion to my wagon. Braking was abit suss, but the other day i put brand new rotors and expensive pads on her. She doesnt need any more stopping ability let me tell you that!
Braking has improved 10 fold since the new ferodo sports pads. Im actually scared to fully nail them incase i break a liftkit part or something hahaha.
just my opinion and experiences.
