Snorkels for Brumby

Post by Pommiebrat » Sat Sep 06, 2008 7:56 am

Well the rear diff is all done and I'm about to fit the engine. I have a Weber carb and have modified a standard Brumby air-box to fit it so I can keep the K&N filter. This version of the brumby (its a late '91) has a plastic continuation pipe that goes across the engine bay from the end of the usual air-box and tucks up inside the right wing. I want to fit a snorkel to this. I could fabricate something out of pipe etc but want to get a good finish especially where the snorkel goes through the wing so am thinking adapting a Safari snorkel or similar from another type of vehicle might be better. Has anyone done this or got any pictures of how they've fitted a snorkel?

Cheers,

John

2" steel tube, no bends just cut and welded. This is what my mate knocked up for his. Took a couple of hours. He used a weber, 90mm elbow down pipe bit, flex tube from a industrial vacuum cleaner and a Liberty airbox.

Yeah there my pics. Snorkel is off a toyota hilux from memory... i would need to check... it's been a while.

Also for your information the front half of my car is exactly the same as a brumby so this will work the same way on your car.

Also refer to these links for more info.
