liberty auto question.
hi just want some ideas about how a 2.2 litre liberty auto wagon would be with a lift kit and larger tyres. would it be gutless like my l-series manual. also i am assuming that as its an auto there would be no low range ??? what are they as a beach or mild off road car with say a 2inch lift? im starting to hate how slow my L is with 185r14 tyres. also are they ok on fuel as compared to an L? im getting about 10 litres per 100 k's with the L. thanx for any opinions/

I have an EJ22 auto lib with a 4ish inch lift. I run 27.5" tyres offroad.
They are brilliant on the beach. the autos really outshine the manuals on the sand in my opinion.
Fuel consumption is around 12L/100km, much better on the highway. A manual lib will get much better figures than this, the autos seem to use alot more fuel...
As for a comparison to your L series - the liberty is in a completely different league. As long as you dont go too big on tyres you always have plenty of power. They are a far nicer car to drive.
If you just want to cruise up the beach, a 2" lift, standard forester / outback size tyres (26") and some new suspension will be all you will need. You will also have a far better car to drive on the road aswell.
If you want specifics on lifting the libs, just ask.
