Hi All
Have been on here for a while but realised I haven't posted or asked any questions before so now is the time. I think I joined when I had my previous subie but now have a completely original 1990 Liberty sedan purchased from an elderly gent who only ever drove it around town, 249k's on it. Drove it home from around 60k's away and it overheated several times. Got it home hoping it wasn't head gaskets. Appears as though the radiator was pretty heavily blocked so put a new radiator in, there was no thermostat so put one in at same time. Have given car two good runs in last 2 days and temp has remained a fraction under half the whole time through all speed zones including110 on highway so pretty happy with that.
Couple of issues remain, bottom radiator hose is not getting hot at all, is this correct or does it mean the thermostat is still not opening. Also have CEL on and with plugs under dash joined is giving me codes 22 and 32 which from what I have found on here are 22 Knock Sensor or Circuit (Right Side on SVX) and 32 Oxygen Sensor or Circuit (No. 1, Right Side, On SVX). In Australia, is right side the drivers side and what does SVX stand for. Car runs a bit rough sometimes on acceleration but I am putting that down to old fuel still at bottom of tank for now. Will ultimately replace fuel filter but thought I might start with codes first and go from there. Any assistance appreciated, will post pics as soon as I can. Thanks Glenn

Re: Codes 22 and 32, 1990 Liberty ej22.
The suffix "SVX" is an acronym for "Subaru Vehicle X".
What Does SVX Stand For?
The Subaru engineers from Japan were asked this question at the 10th Anniversary Meet in Lafayette, Indiana. They seemed to recollect that the
name assigned to the car in development was “Subaru #10”, or “Subaru Vehicle X” (Roman numeral).
Others versions that have been heard:
Subaru Vehicle Xperimental
Safety Vehicle Xperimental
Specialty Vehicle Xperimental
There are probably more versions, but it doesn’t really matter. It just helps add more mystery to this incredible car.
