Subaru MY03 Auto Exhaust Issue

Hi all, having an issue hopefully someone can point me in right direction, as you all have in the past.
My Forester exhaust sometimes smells like rotten eggs, anfter lite city driving. Performance is quite poor especially uphill. Drove it to a mates place last night and there is a bad hot burning smell, very distinct smell but cant tell where it is coming form. Not that bad of a hill climb and not very long drive, remember it did it last time also. There are no oil leaks or radiator leaks, but the smell is very strong, smells like something overheating coming from underneath. Few questions, sounds like my cat converter is bad. Would it be a burning smell from bad cat converter, under load. Is it possible to clean these out, or does anyone recommend a aftermarket setup. Do they have one or two cat converters.
