There is also this :

Add : I found another XV CAD model here , but you have to be a member to sign in ...

+ here is another @ $ 95 ... Doh ... There are also more Subaru's here ... No XV though ...

So it just depends on how you want to get one ...
I found some basic measurements for free :) and some semi-decent diagrams for free too. So I am working on making a model right now. It's taking a while, but, it's getting there.

Lots of Subi's made up, but no XV's yet, so hopefully I can add to the collection. :D
Otter the 2004 Outback with all the fruit.

Gannon wrote:The engine and gearbox would be the same as the current model its based on and there is no chance of low range gears unless you are willing to go back to an 80hp engine because Subaru dont want to be replacing broken mechanical components.

I know this thread is all about dreaming, but say if Subaru were to read this and put it to paper, they wont be designing anything new, except for the body.
It's sad that it's come to this these days. If subaru did it right with the dual range, it wouldn't be hard to make it stronger by placing it in the rear of the gearbox before the centre diff.

It's all about thinking outside the box - which is what I think subaru used to be about, but they've lost that ideal now :(

Keep up the good work Bantum - who knows where this could go, I know I'm keen to see what you envisage of a future brumby, full sized tub or not!

Cheers

No worries ... :p

P.S. - Here is some more detail for the tray area :

I reckon you could get pretty close to 1,900 mm in length with everything folded down / out ... :D

Ok - I've found a suggestion box : contact-us

If you'd like to make a comment on there, you can use the data / images from here :

Example: " I would like to see a XV based UTE, with diff locks, decent low range, excellent ground clearance and some decent power under the bonnet " + you can put your own spin on it, but suggest the KISS principle applies here.

Let us know if you have posted there & we'll see what response we get. If we can get enough 'spam' er, hits on there - might be a cause for celebration ... :)

Cheers, Bantum ...

I was thinking more along the lines of "if you had all the money you need" ;)

I'd put my hand up for one if I had the means to take one on...

Bantum, there are enough Subaru Forums for Subaru to draw inspiration and suggestions from without us having to bombard them into submission. If Subaru are so thick as to not take notice of owners grizzles and suggestions for improvements then they deserve to die a slow death.

Subaru monitor numerous Forums already attempting to save it's name etc. so drawing from owners grizzles and suggestions shouldn't be all that hard for them with today's technology. How many imes have you read of people asking for the return of the Brumby ........ Subaru must be both blind and deaf I think.

They can't be that deaf ...

Just found out they did propose this from about 1994 :

Kind Regards.

I'd take one of those dodgy "jag" front end imprezas before I'd even consider something like this!!!

That over hang would not be useful in terms of weight carrying capacity - if you could trust it to begin with.

I thought we were beyond the 1880's!

Ah Fujisan, in case anything get lost in translation maybe this works:

It is not in Japanese language or culture to have such an equivalent for grizzles :D

Don't try this at home kids, bloody hard to fix keyboard after !!
