Me 3 for the R/C planes. They spent more time in the ground than above it.
Started collecting R/C Wild Willy jeeps from the 80's with the first one from a garage sale up the road for $20 (with radio gear) and the 2nd one off ebay for way too much at nealy $200. Saved on the first one and crashed (there is a theme here isnt there) and burned on the next. As I say to the wife, I could be at the pub couldnt I.
What I do is plan work to be done on the car(s) so I dont spend all my time working on them. Everything in moderation.

Yeh, the excuse "I could be at the pub" never worked with my ex.
I spent 6 months once building a batplane. My own design it resembled a Hawker Harrier jump jet. But had two 4 stroke engines. It was unusual because I built it with swing back and forth wings. The mechanism was made with a continuous length quarter inch thread with two small electric motors one each end, one to turn one way the other to turn the other way. Looked great sitting on the runway with its wings going back and forth, took 30 seconds each way. Did it fly?
Figures were on board- batman as pilot and robin as a parachutist.
It flew for about 45 seconds, a tailplane broke off and out of control into mud.
Batman was decapitated. Robin was never found. It was the most tragic day in Euroa for plastic figures.
But I have a theory....that Robin got out alive and became the joker.....

This is why I still think staying with R/C stuff on the ground is my best option,
as force = mass x accelleration meaning gravity is not my friend.
The Batplane sounds awsome and Robin always seemed like a bit of a worry to me (still remember looking at the original Bat car at the Newcastle shown back in the 60's or early 70's - nice)

I know what your going through, the problem I have is that all my friends and family say that I should get rid of the vortex because nobody likes it, no one is going to buy it and your just wasting your money...
my theory is, I like it, I keep it let them say
besides its your car and what ever you do with it is up to you
that's my 20 yen. :P
