Yeah thats too expensive, I'm going with The front WRX seats so i won't need to re-trim them and selling the front seats:)El_Freddo wrote:Good work Guyph!
Maybe save up and get the seats re-trimmed to solve that cracking problem on top of the rear seats - get the fronts done too so that everything matches.
Looks like it might just scrub up to be a great little restorer!
Cheers

Starting to put Swampy back together:)
As everything was out i laid some RCA, power wires for an amp, a stacker for the future sound system:)
Also started a cut and polish on the paint. Can't afford a respray so will clean and touch her up as best i can:) Done the LH side and rear. Will attack the rest tomorrow after Uni.

Also unfortunately found coolant on the passenger side:( So i put a U hose on the heater pipes. I don't really feel the urge of getting that dash out and plus summer is coming. I 've done the heater core on my L series, My bro's liberty but the vortex seems to trickier to get that dash out:(
Ohhh well.....

Hey Guy
the dash is quite straight forward to remove , there are only 8 bolts and take off the steering wheel first. all the wiring is attached to the fire wall and there are only minor things to move.
Try some Cargo " metalic sealup first it will fill the hole in the heater. and not corrupt the rest of the system.
Cheers Pete

That sounds like a good idea tony for those odd times that I'm either having withdrawals or can't afford fuel at that time.Tweety wrote:Now I know why Bennie (El Freddo) is in love with it....I think he has the EJ revving sound on his ipod....
I do have a video of the exhaust on youtube under the user name of "elfreddoandrubyscoo" if you want to check it out
Guyph, progress is looking good mate! I reckon you should just pull your thumb out and fix the leaking heater core - much easier with the seats etc out already, plus I bet it needs a good clean in behind there!
Then there's that other thing of you needing to do it before winter again when it NEEDS to be done, not HAS to be done!
my 10c
Cheers
Bennie
No mine doesn't...steptoe wrote:While you have seats out - does the Vortex have air ducts to rear seat passengers footwell? like all sedans since 1984 ?
Well 2day i removed the exhaust and turbo to get to the gaskets. Luckily I started to soak the nuts with WD40 since the past two days and the bolts came out easy:) Turns out the gaskets were still ok.
This is where the leak was coming from..... lol, clean cut!
So i'll go to an exhaust shop on Monday and get some new gaskets or maybe use the old ones:p
