Was looking at motors what would be the difference between a

4.5T KV 7300 Brushless Motor

and a

17.5T KV 2400 Brushless Motor

Whats the T and KV?

The 'T' is in relation to the old Turns of wire on a brushed motor, and is irrelevant.
The 'KV' is what you need, and is 'Revs per Volt' the higher, the faster.
Make sure u get a motor for a 1/10 sacale, or a '540' size. theyll all fit.
Castle Creations Mamba Max motors and ESC are unreal, and can be had upto 9000KV.
You can get cheaper ones from china, but are only about 2/3 to 1/2 the price. and not as good.
illd recomend against the 9000, i have it, and love it, but its stupid fast... ridiculously fast... TOO fast. It justs rips the tires from the rims, so i got faom tyres, which went well, but when it crashes, it crashes HARD. its really useless. FUN, but useless.

to get the most from the motor, you will want to run a LiPo Lithium Polymer battery. you need a Lipo charger too. Hobbyking.com is the best place for batteries and charger. you'll geta battery for 25, and a charger for about the same.

i have a few RC's Nitro and now electric. Electric is better in every respect.

So to Clarify, 2400Kv x 7.4Volts = 17760rpm
Where as ,7300Kv x 7.4Volts = 54020rpm

this is at the motor of course

Hi Maxxair,

Was looking on ebay and found this

On one side
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/EZRUN-V2-600 ... 3a619a84b6

And on the other
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/eZRun-5-5T-K ... 2a115461c2
and
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/30A-Brushles ... 25664977ce

Lets say i get the cheap set that comes to $45
Would that be better than the factory kyosho engine ive got?
I'm not going to enter any competition or anything but just want to be competitive if the WA boys ever get together someday to race them:)

Nah, dont buy that ESC, its for a plane, and has no heatsink. as for the motor, go straight to the source, hobbyking. get a motor, esc and lipo in one hit.
It will be 50 times better than the stock motor. 50! you wont be dissapointed by the speed and power.

http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/stor ... r_6T_.html << stupid fast

any of these....
http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/stor ... r_ESC.html
http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/stor ... verse.html
http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/stor ... 1_12_.html

2s (7.4v) lipo battery. get a few plugs and bits and peices too. and a charger.
http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/stor ... oved_.html

also get a cheap 2.4Ghz radio system. way better than the old crystal ones.

My chassis is a Tamiya TB-01 which has been long since discontined, but i chose, because it has metal diffs and driveline. besides the spur gears, which keep melting or tearing the centers out, and the driveshafts that keep breaking, and the wheels that the center twists out of, and the axels that shear off, its one tough car. good times. (get a slower motor than the 9000... ;) )
Cheers, Rohan M.
