Looking at the inside the engine appears to look ok, really won't know the extent of the damage the heating has done until we can do a compression test.guyph_01 wrote:Well The plan is to wack a set of head gaskets on the engine and see if it runs again:) Paul seems to think it will be fine and the trip from Joondalup to my place the engine ran better than expected and only stopped at the last minute!!
It will run for sure but you will need to be on the look out for a replacement, as I can't say how long it will last.guyph_01 wrote:So yeah, Paul said that he thinks the engine will run again, I think i'll listen

Very much like grease but the seals were that rock hard, they came out in pieces.guyph_01 wrote:Need to ask Paul about the seals, he took them off:)
The Harmonic Balancer pulley was easy to get off, the problem was the Timing Crank Pulley.. this was a SOAB to get off !! and I'm still waiting to replace that lost fluid Guy??guyph_01 wrote:No the bolt was easy to get out, What i meant was the crank pulley was thread locked to the crank shaft!!! Who does that???
Oil is black!! lol
So far all the lift blocks are made and installed on the car, I think it the first time i haven't cross-threaded a nut installing a lift kit. Paul will be proud!! LOL. Now i'll get the strut top draw at work and laser cut:)
Tomorrow i'll start to get the engine back in..
LOL.. you know there was a concrete warranty on the engine?guyph_01 wrote:Yeah it turned off:)
My thoughts too.steptoe wrote:Those seals did not melt did they Guy ? Just looks like leaking oil turned to grease from your pics
