Post by H-top » Wed Jan 27, 2010 4:13 pm

G'day,
I'm looking at doing an ej conversion and have a 92lib wag as a donor car. Is there anything i should know or be looking for on these ej's?
Cheers,
Sam

The EJ22's are nice. One thing that springs to mind are the coolant manifold O rings, which leak with age. No Sump gasket to worry about. Thermostat, as they are on the inlet side. Rear seal.
Oh, and if it is the AX7 you are talking about, please put me down for the Engine.
The trading corner : the stuff that I need ATM -
# Vortex Main Dash Surround / Bezel ANY COLOUR,
# Vortex Radio, # RHD Vortex 4speed auto digital dash,
# RH-Side parking (86+) Vortex wiper transmission,
# EA82 AWD 4EAT,
If you have them please PM me

Yeah Bennie did that once in his L Series... I would replace all seals etc before doing the swap..
Other option is to go for EJ20T

I'd also replace the waterpump. I thought mine was good but it turned out to be a dud - with only 124xxxkm on the clock...

Cam belt - best to do while its out of the car and while you're replacing the water pump. I also resealed the cam covers, cam seals front and rear, rear main, crankshaft front seal. Basically any oil seal I could find was replaced.

Cheers
