So the combined weight of the wheels is going to be greater than that of weight of the wacky bug without wheels? Sounds like you'll be driving the moon buggy... Could help in keeping the car the right way up.AndrewT wrote:One thing about these 33's is they are bloody heavy! The unsprung weight of wackybug is going to increase a fair amount.
It could also help bog the car down in the wet stuff too...
Have fun with those. I still maintain that the WA crew are the craziest around on this forum.
Cheers

well firstly I need to remove it from matatak's house (he must be getting sick of the sight of it!).
Kindof concentrating on getting the wagon going at the moment but...
Wackybug tho, the plans for now are to finish welding some more box into her for a roll cage, cut more off her to allow for the new wheels/tyres, do a 6stud conversion and slap the 33" muddies on.
Oh yeh she also needs at least a 4" lift kit - anyone want to donate some strut tops at least? Can probably make the blocks easily enough.
I'll get to it sometime but yeh, wagon for now.

Update on WackyBug - she's gone.
I sold the EJ22 and adaptor plate etc, and cut my galvanised box section back out. The bare shell was picked up by Sims Metals yesterday.
I no longer have a car trailer so transporting it was difficult.
Also I'm about to rent my place out so have nowhere to keep a buggy like that for about the next 6 months.
I highly recommend doing this if you have the means! It was absolutely awesome fun, even with the stock motor it was very fast. With the EJ22 it was just insane
I will do another one one day.
