I'm definitely not going to get it done on time. I have exactly 1 week left. With a fulltime job and Tuesday and Wednesday nights both writeoff's this week due to other commitments....it aint happening.

Still needs;
- put engine in
- put all engine accessories into engine bay
- fit VL turbo fuel pump and plumb it all up
- get the turbo dump adapted to the rest of the exhaust by an exhaust shop
- put clutch back on engine (I'll take a chance due to time constraints and use the clutch that came with the frontcut, it looks to be in good nick).
- put gearbox in (customize crossmember)
- Cut down wiring loom! (not started yet)
- Fit wiring loom
- fill up all oils etc
- Fit radiator and fans and fill up with coolant
- get a good set of 13" tyres onto the mags
- fit the front hubs, struts, brakes etc (still need to buy brake pads for these)
- get a front wheel alignment done
- do a few test drives to make sure it's all good (in the dark backstreets!)
- give the entire body a very aggressive cut/polish (the paint is very marginal)
- get it police inspected and licensed!!
Time contraints? Not going to get it done? Com'on Andrew, the above list looks like a lazy afternoon to me

yeh me too- whens the next work taking place?
is it just me or is the turbo on the piss? i know the photo is so its hard to tell.

Nah the turbo hasn't been unbolted off the motor, it's in the normal position.
The motor hasn't got the gearbox on and it's just got a jack under the sump so the whole motor is probably on the piss which might be what you are seeing.

Got abit more done tonight, unassisted this time....

- Hooked up accelerator cable to engine
- Replaced real main oil seal
- Replaced Spigot bearing
- Fitted clutch and pressure plate
- Bolted gearbox up to the motor

Old rear main oil seal and spigot bearing, with the packets from the new items

Gearbox gradually getting closer and closer, some shots from underneath. I used two trolley jacks.

Tomorrow I'll start messing around making up the custom gearbox crossmember and hopefully fit the hub/disc/strut/sprins/driveshaft/brake assemblies.

Did some stuff tonight,

- Tightened all the clutch pressure plate bolts (this took ages as I ran into some clutch allignment troubles when trying to get the gearbox to slide back on)
- Installed clutch slave cylinder
- Installed starter motor
- Installed tailshaft
- Installed hub/driveshaft/brakes etc on one side (ran out of time for the other side)

Yes the tailshaft is at a funny angle at the moment because the gearbox has no crossmember yet :)

Bit more progress;

Yesterday
BIG thanks to Subarino for cutting down the wiring loom for me. Another totally pro job by the looks. Haven't put it in the car yet but I'm tipping she's going to start up straight away.
While he did that I knocked together the custom gearbox crossmember.

Tonight
Thanks to Subafury, Matatak and Alextacy for the general help this evening...
Finished the gearbox crossmember.
Removed the front wheel guards.
Fitted the hub, brake rotor, driveshaft assembly to the driver's side.
Partially fitted the VL Turbo fuel pump.
Replaced engine mounts (unexpectedly discovered the Legacy round engine mounts were buggered yesterday - Subarino spotted that one). Now running the better square type.

More to come tomorrow...

Well I'm hoping to get her running this arvo maybe even driving.....but she won't be ready to get licenced yet. Still needs to goto the exhaust shop and a few more places.
I rekon I will go about a week over-time. Blowing the build time out to 5 weeks.

why was there a limit? just a personal challenge or something?

you'll have to set a time frame to get your L back on the road:)
