Hey, no problem mate. Very glad to have your advice. You're a friggin' genius. Those wiring diagrams were almost spot on. Jim had them on his laptop in the workshop and sometimes in the car. Deciphered the whole wiring mess and got rid of the Version 1 fusebox but I decided to keep the main relay box on the left front guard. It was easier and neater than mounting an 80 amp fuseable link back inside the cab. That, and another 30 amp fuseable link, are all that's left inside it. I think that accounts for 3 wires...vincentvega wrote:looking great mate. im liking the dash very much. expecially hte new location of the fuse panel.
sorry about the scales. I still havn't come up with a good solution.
are you guys spraying it?
Jim ended up doing all the bodywork too. He's not bad for a chopper pilot.

Thanks dude. The beauty of doing it ourselves is that we know exactly where everything is and why.
Jim seems to think we've finished now so we won't have to touch it again, but when we switch to programmable aftermarket engine management, we'll have to rip a lot of the wiring out and start again.
I'm looking forward to the data logging.

Are you still going to come west at any stage then Brett?Outback bloke wrote:Well that solves that problem. I have been trying to work out how I was getting from Perth to Hyden. Finke it is then. Any idea where you are staying this year? I'd like to start booking things soon if I can.
You know you are getting old when the candles on your birthday cake start to cost more than the cake itself.

We could have got you a lift from Perth to Hyden no problem at all. There are (or would have been) at least 3 cars coming over.
The problem is not the car being ready in time. It's more of a work/staff/family issue.
We definitely should book somewhere in Alice. I've been looking for somewhere better than the last 3 years. How many of you are coming this year?

I am 99% sure I wont be there this year. I need to save my $$ / annual leave for my run up the cape later on this year. Don't book anything on my behalf.
sounds like you will have plenty of crew without me anyway.
edit: this thread just hit 100 pages. another congratulations!

Accommodation is booked for Finke.
It was booked for Hyden too.
The friends and family that were coming out to see us are still going out for a look. Totally bummed that we won't be able to make it this year. By all accounts it will be a fantastic event and I'll be following the live webcast thing on offroadracing.com.au instead.
Might have to try and do the Gascoyne Dash in November. Did anyone see the coverage last Sunday on Speedweek. Sensational coverage with the highlight being the in-car footage of both Outerbounds buggies racing down the river bed as father and son duelled for the lead.
