Just realized I have 7 names for Pit Passes (Dane, I need that second name) but can you post up if you want a presentation dinner ticket or if you want to try your luck on the night.
Dan, Jim & I will be going regardless of the outcome.

No, I'll put it all on my credit card for now.

Ready?
More or less. The only thing left to do is decide how much to reinforce the radius rods so they wont bend. It would've been good to have the time to build a complete new lower control arm but it's going to have to wait.

I'm keen though. Can't wait to see how the new rear suspension handles the melonholes.

Or, you could just pay the entry fee at the gate and not worry about walking through the pits. We walked in there the first day once and then not again for the whole weekend. There was no need.

Technically we were outside the pit area though because they ran out of room inside. I doubt they'll make that mistake again because CAMS requires all competitors to be in a designated area.

I doubt I can make it out there going by this weeks activities. I'll have to drop off some stuff to Outback Bloke (relays, fuel tank stick etc) that got left in my toolbox after Finke and I forgot about while I was getting my gear from Woll.
There is only one thing you must do in your life. Everything else is a choice.

Looks like a bumper field of 4WDs.

Only!!!!
Better get crackin'!

Fuel tank & spare tyre rack are back in.
Steering rack's back in. Steering column extension was found to have been built wrong so had to make a new one 20mm shorter. The big long power steering hose has been shortened and re-routed.
Drivers side lower control arm has been straightened and repaired and new full size two-piece bushes from Crossbred Performance installed.
New radius rods are built and installed. I decided on an extra 16mm solid bar re-inforcing underneath. The pass side was modified but I built a brand new one for the drivers side (thanks Jeff) because the old one has had a hard life.
Drivers side is all re-assembled with a new 25 spline shaft, ready to bolt the wheel on.
Then I ran out of puff.

Finke Desert Race 2010

Post by brumbyrunner » Wed Feb 10, 2010 10:25 pm

So who's going?

I'm pretty sure Dan is doing the service at Finke. Probably take the truck so we have all our gear this year.

The big flash gooseneck with hot and cold running blondes didn't quite make it into the budget this year so we should probably book some cabins in Alice if it's not too late.
