Wow, what a great event. The track was nice and rough with some deep melenholes that swallowed the Brumby. They must have been 2m deep in places. We had plenty of dramas along the way but due to the start/stop nature returning to the pits after every lap, we gained more race-pace testing than doing 5 years worth of Finke. Going into the event I was worried about the dust, especcially when overtaking or being overtaken by a hard-charging pro-buggy. The dust wasn't too bad but more than that, the competitors kept cool. Even when laped 200m from the finish line by Shannon Rentch, who must have been in my dust all the way down Zoo Road, he passed me safely like the pro he is and went on to win the event.

Jim won't have time for this stuff for a while but Chris has some great video footage that someone could put on utube. We tried to save it to my laptop but it didn't work.

Once again a big thank-you to all who gave their time to help us compete at Gundy. What a great crew. There were 15 minute pitstops where I didn't have to lift a finger. Just sat in a comfy chair while the boys checked over the car before I climbed back in.

Geez it looked like he was going to land on top of you just before he passed. Wish I had a camera. Peter might have got it on his :???:

If Chris doesn't get me on the turps tonight I will get his footage and some of my pics and put them up. Just got to pull his motor out ready for the conversion tomorrow first.

Excellent set up with the way they have 5 races in one. As Stuart said, great way to give the car a shake down and still be able to race. Bloody minor things going wrong are a PITA. Power steering leaking, a token fire and a faulty relay gave us some thing to do in between races. Atleast they took our minds off the flies.

About time for some pics hey?

We set up camp near the entrance to the pitt as it was full. It was a great spot to watch the race as well. Especially from the viewing platform.

Viewing platform was also a good spot for photos.

But action shots are what you want to see right?

A couple of the well dressed team working on the car. We were priviliged to have Murray Coote stop by to see what the hell I was putting his shocks into. He mentioned that he thought we needed more wheel travel.

What the hell were you doing up at 1.30 in the AM.

Did they do any professional pics at Gundy like they did at Finke?

I need to ask myself the same question!
I was catching up on some office work so dragged it on by uploading pics every 10 minutes.

There were photographers everywhere but I havn't seen any pics yet. They were filming for a DVD as well.

It was one of BR's workers that was down there watching with us. He reckons it would be a lot easier to see it coming through the dust if it was pink. It was actually a pretty small group that went to help this time. Danger, Wilbur and Us.

Work continues slowly on the new rear swingarm design. Still playing around with ideas at the moment. Most of the time I just mock-up what I'm trying to do to see if it works or binds up or if there is a better way to do it. I'm sure there are CAD programs to do this for you but I don't have one or know how to use them. I've measured 14" of travel with the hub at these two positions which gives me 4" under the rear diff at full bump.
