just something to watch with the hard drice recorders.... ive heard that some of them have a g force sensor in them, so they turn off when theyre dropped as to not damage things too much

in a race ute... i reckon ull be pulling a few G's going over bumps and even just taking off

just something to look out for ;)

We'll just have to wait and see I guess. It's only a new product on the market. It's designed and built for off-road racing and it's housed in a water proof case called a shockbox. Haven't actually seen it yet....

Mate nice job, you couldn't have done it any better.

So who here will be adding a two inch lift, big rubber and cutting the guards like brumbyrummer has done???

Fine effort ;)

I'd like to welcome aboard my newest sponser, Gareth or Bratgeebah and his company Crossbred Performance.
I'm looking forward to converting the raceute to 5 stud and then improving the suspension using the more comon EJ type struts and shocks.

I haven't really mentioned sponsers before and I owe a heck of a lot to them. Even though I've got countless hours and dollars invested in this, I couldn't have got this far without their support.

thank God for that....you were going to have some serious stopping issues with the standard brakes. This will make for an excellent package all round.

I have now towed my racecar home to finish it off.
Just before we left Mt Isa, my very good sponsers, Steelware Body Fabricaters knocked up this sump guard. It bolts to the bullbar, the front towing eyes, engine crossmember and radius plates.

First we ran it up on the "hoist".

It looks a bit steeper than I would have liked but with the engine so far forward there is no alternative.

It is now painted black and back on the car.

We spent all day working on the car today and about 8:30 we packed up and went for a quick spin. I cant believe how hard it pulls. I'm going to have to be very carefull not to overdo it!

Apparantly they are in Mt Isa.
I hope to get them on Friday.
Then I can install my new front stuts.

Today we got the roof & rear number panels made, replaced a leaking coolant line, mounted the fire extingishers and put the mirrors back on

Whats ppe?

I had a few parts turn up on Friday so had another busy Sunday in the shed.

Bolted the harnesses in, built both tailshaft loops, installed in-car camera, built a new lighter roof fin, mounted dust light brackets, built new radius rods and assembled the new front struts.

It looks like I cant use the adjustable strut tops as they wont fit the MY strut shaft. Has anyone ever tried L series front struts in an MY?

Big thanks to Crossbred Performance for the rear diff guard which is now on.

Big thanks to Subi-wan for the loan of his digi-dash.

And all my stickers turned up from Stickertech so will be putting them on first chance I get.

It's getting there but still a lot to do.

I've done the reverse before. No dramas but I wasn't using adjustable tops.

Looks like we will be making alice for prologue. See you there

It's getting close. I can taste it. Hope it rains.

So you put L series front struts and std L series strut tops in an MY?
Why?

l series struts have more travel ;)

and also l series lower control arm, steering knuckle, brakes, driveshafts

just swap the strut top over and it all bolts in (need to modify the lift block to fit the l series strut tops eventually)
