Somerset is always good, even with no water.
Stuart Smiths do degrees C temp gauges. This link has some pics - http://www.derek.com.au/smithsgauges.html

corrections
Things are not always as clear as they seem. The more you dig the more you discover.brumbyrunner wrote: FACT#1 : All the driveshafts I have seen have the same spline both ends.
FACT#2 : There are 4 driveshaft spline counts; 22, 23, 25 & 30.
FACT#3 : There are 2 output shaft/stub-axle spline counts; 23 & 25.
FACT#4 : The two 23 splines and the two 25 splines are identical (which is completely irrevelant and useless info).
FACT#5 : There is no acurate way of determining the size of a DOJ or shaft without dissasembly.
FACT#6 : Driveshafts designed for one DOJ and one CV cannot take two DOJs without doing something seriously bodgee to it.
FACT#7 : I have built myself a rear-end that will not be able to use Subaru parts.
I'm surprised nobody has bothered to correct the above inacuracies.
![Smile :)](./images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)
#1 : Some Subaru axleshafts have different splines on each end.
#2 : There are other axleshaft splines including 29 and 32.
#3 : This still holds true.
#4 : This is still irrelevent.
#5 : Despite the markings on axleshafts that give a clue, there are some unmarked shafts out there.
#6 : Can't imagine this will ever change.
#7 : Looks like I will have to turn up the rear axleshafts to suit the Subaru joints.
Would I be correct in assuming that all Subaru CVs, DOJs & axleshafts up to the mid 90s were supplied by NTN?
Would anyone dispute that NTN makes the best?

Well I got the DVR back from the maker and after much pushing and shoving, finally got to see some windscreen-cam footage.
The sound is very low so hopefully we can adjust that somehow but the video is great. Very clear and good colour.
Now if I could just work out how to put some on utube I could show it to you.

I just finished another gadget for the ute. Left to right the buttons work as:
Power.
Stopwatch: Start / Stop. Long press for reset
Time / Date: Time, Date
Battery Voltage: Current voltage, Max voltage. Long press to clear maximum.
Speed: Current speed, Max speed, Heading (degrees true). Long press to clear maximum.
Backlight: defaults to backlight off. press to scroll through 1/3 bright, full bright, off.
The speed and heading are taken from a serial GPS receiver attached to the back of the display. This means that no matter what combo of tyres and gearing the ute is running, the speedo is accurate. All the timing is based off an internal Real Time Clock.
Apologies for the shoddy video taken on my phone:

reckon you can find a spot for that in the dash boss?

Very, very cool Dane.
Wilbur spent some hours figureing out how to drive the in-car software and my editing software and came up with a 4 minute file from Gundy complete with soundtrack. I have tried to host it to youtube but it's not working.
In the meantime, check out Chapmans new widetrack NL Pajero. It will be at Finke too.
